Reuniting Lost Dogs, Rehoming, and Educating the Community
At Hart County Animal Shelter, our mission is to provide compassionate care and shelter to stray, abandoned, and lost dogs while actively working to reunite them with their owners or find them loving forever homes. We believe in rehabilitating dogs in need, ensuring their well-being, and promoting responsible pet ownership within our community.

Pets Adopted
We work diligently to reconnect lost dogs with their owners, using every resource at our disposal to bring families back together.
We connect pet owners with affordable spay and neuter programs to help control the canine population and improve pet health.
In times of crisis, we provide temporary foster care and food assistance to dogs in need, ensuring they have a safe place to stay.
Our shelter provides a safe and nurturing environment for stray, abandoned, or lost dogs, ensuring they receive the care they need.
I have been associated with HCAS as a volunteer since last year. I'm also the Education Coordinator for Animal Rescue Kare (ARK) in Hart County. The staff and volunteers at HCAS are committed to the health and welfare of the dogs we shelter. The staff is compassionate and caring . I am proud to work with them and be a part of the shelter's evolution towards a new Animal Shelter in Hart County.

“I began volunteering at HCAS when they opened in 2022. I’ve been able to work for better animal welfare, grow as a person, and build relationships with other like-minded people. Volunteering has led me to wonderful dog foster opportunities and two personal adoptions of special needs dogs through the shelter, both of which have forever impacted my heart. I appreciate being part of the shelter and having the opportunity to be of service to our community.”
